You never know what you’ll run into online, 和 some of the dangers can have truly 可怕的结果. If we all are safe online, our global digital community will be stronger 和 more resilient.

Here are a range of steps you can take at PCC to make sure your online information 保持安全.

  • 联系帮助台 immediately if you suspect your account has been compromised.
  • 更改所有密码 you used or stored on the device
  • 更新 your antivirus software, operating system 和 web browsers.
  • 备份: Protect your valuable work, music, photos 和 other digital information by making an electronic copy 和 storing it safely.
  • Notify credit agencies if you think your personally identifiable information has been affected.

You Only Get One Identity. 不要放弃它. 

  • 小心分享  think before posting about yourself 和 others online. Consider what a post reveals, who might see it 和 how it could be perceived now 和 in the future.  记住,如果 you don’t want your school, employer or l和lord to see it, don’t post it.
  • Keep what’s private, private by choosing your privacy 和 security settings instead of using defaults. 如果你不知道 want your employer or l和lord to see it, don’t post it.

Don't Get Tricked When You Click!

  • 警惕 of communications that implore you to act immediately, offer something that sounds too good to be true or ask for personal information.

Be Careful Who You 连接 To.

  • 小心谨慎 when connecting to public WiFi networks. Cyber criminals can track anything you access 使用的信息.
  • 保护好你的钱 when banking 和 shopping.  Check to be sure the site is security enabled. 寻找 web addresses with “http://” which means the site takes extra measures to help secure 你的信息. “http://” is not secure.
  • 保持当前的 和 keep pace with new ways to stay safe online. Check trusted websites for the latest information, 和 share with friends, family, 和 colleagues 和 encourage them to 网络明智.

Strong Passwords Keep Trouble Out.

  • Create strong, complex passphrases that vary across your various login accounts. Don't share your passphrases, 和 always make new ones difficult to guess.  Passwords should be a minimum of 12 characters, contain upper- 和 lower-case letters, numbers 和 special characters.
  • Never share your password, it creates risk of others accessing your accounts 和 personal information.
  • 单独的爸爸sswords for every account help to thwart cybercriminals. At a minimum, separate your work 和 personal accounts 和 make sure that your critical accounts have the strongest passwords.
